Bollywood has a loyal set of fans. They look forward to future releases with a lot of excitement. However,  the last two years have seen a lot of delays in film releases, and people have missed watching some excellent content on screen. But, after a lot of waiting, it seems like some films will finally see the light of day in 2022. So, without further ado, let’s know about the Top 12 Anticipated Bollywood movies that are set to release in 2022:

Jersey

Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur will be released in 2022. It’s a remake of the 2019 Telugu movies with the same name based on sports. Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a cricketer who returns to cricket to fulfil his son’s wish. It also stars Pankaj Kapoor in a significant role. The film was all set to release earlier this month, but the release has been postponed due to current circumstances. 

Prithviraj

The name of Ruler Prithviraj is well-known in Indian History. His tales of bravery inspire several other rulers in History. The ability to bring that time’s grandeur on screen lies with Bollywood. Akshay Kumar plays the role of King Prithviraj Chauhan from Chahamana Dynasty. Also, the film marks the debut of Miss World 2017, Manisha Chillar. She plays the role of Sanyogita. The movie was scheduled to release in January, but it has been postponed.

Attack

Attack is a high-action thriller film. It’s based on the hostage crisis, which is inspired by actual events. The Film stars John Abraham,  Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakulpreet in lead roles. The film was initially scheduled to release on 2ith January 2022, but it has been postponed after the surge in Covid-19 cases. The film is produced by Jayantilal Gada, John Abraham and Ajay Kapoor. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi

It’s one of the most awaited films of Bollywood. Audiences have been waiting for a Grand movie by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the trailer added to the excitement for the Film. The movie is based on the journey of Young Ganga, who marks her territory. Soon, she becomes Gangubai- a madam of the Kamathipura red light area. Alia Bhatt plays the titular role. 

Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Like this Gujarati name, the Film is also a Gujarati inclined one. The Film stars Ranveer Singh in the titular role. He plays a Gujarati man who believes in equal rights between men and women. Shalini Pandey of Arjun Reddy fame is making her debut in Bollywood.

Shamshera

It’s been a long since we missed watching Ranbir Kapoor on Screen. His other film Brahmastra got postponed, and even Shamshera is getting a lot of delays. But, possibly both films will be released in 2022. Ranbir Kapoor plays a double role of a father and son. On the other hand,  Sanjay Dutt plays the villain in the Film, and Vaani Kapoor is the Lead Actress. The film is scheduled to release on March 18 2022.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Over the years,  Kartika Aaryan has emerged as a popular and bankable Bollywood star. His fan following is vital, particularly among female fans. Despite a short career graph, he has established himself as a famous actor. His next Film is the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 stars Tabu and Kiara Advani. The Film is a sequel to the iconic film Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar, Ameesha Patel, and Vidya Balan, directed by Priyadarshan. The sequel film is directed by Anees Bazmee and Produced by Bhushan Kumar. 

Dhaakad

After a smashing performance as Jayalalitha, Kangana Ranaut is all set to play a fierce character. Dhaakad is based on the story of a brave and tough International spy and follows her through an action-filled adventure. The Film stars Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal, and Divya Dutt doing some breathtaking action-packed scenes.  

Laal Singh Chadha

Aamir Khan’s next Film is Laal Singh Chadha that also stars Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya. The Film is a remake of 1994, American film Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks in the lead role. It’s a comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom 18 pictures, and Paramount pictures. The film was set to release on April 14 2022 on the occasion of Baisakhi  

Gehraiyaan

The teaser and poster of the Film Gehraiyaan have already gained much attention. People are excitedly waiting to watch Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Chaturvedi on-screen together. The film also stars Ananya Pandey. The film is scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video on February 11 2022  

RRR

RRR has been a highly anticipated film, directed by Bahubali Fame director S.S Rajamauli. The Film stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgan, Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, etc. The Film is a story of legendary revolutionaries. It follows their journey far away from their homes. After that, they returned home and started to fight back against the British government in 1920. The Film has an estimated budget of between 350-400 crore. 

Bachchan Pandey

Another Akshay Kumar starrer, Bachchan Pandey is an action-comedy movie. It also stars Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is scheduled to release on March 4, 2022. Bachchan Pandey is directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
