Kapkapiii Cast Interview
Bollywood’s latest horror-comedy Kapkapiii is here to bring the chills — and the giggles. Set in a haunted hostel with a quirky bunch of characters, the film promises a fun ride filled with scares, friendships, and a lot of unexpected moments.
We sat down with the cast — Tusshar Kapoor, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Rathee — to talk ghosts, acting, changes in the film industry, and even parenting. The conversation was honest, funny, and full of surprises. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:
Q 1 – If you came face to face with a real ghost, how would you react?
Sonia Rathee: “I’d probably be the first to run… and also the first to get caught. I’m not brave at all in situations like that. I’d panic for sure!”
Siddhi Idnani: “I think I’d light a fire or say a prayer — anything to scare it off. Or maybe try taking a selfie, if it shows up in the photo!”
Tusshar Kapoor: “I’ve heard that fire or holy things can keep ghosts away. I’d probably try something along those lines. But honestly, who knows how I’d react in that moment?”
Q 2 – If Kapkapiii became a web series, how would your characters grow?
Tusshar: “The group of boys in the film is so unique — each one could easily have their own episode. Their personalities are hilarious and totally different from each other. That could be really fun to explore.”
Siddhi: “My character Kavya is very different from me — she starts off frustrated with life and slowly opens up as the story goes on. In a series, you could explore her change in more depth and really show her journey.”
Sonia: “I think Kapkapiii works really well as a movie because of the mystery and suspense. But maybe a prequel series could work — something that gives background stories for the characters.”
Q 3 – What changes have you seen in the film industry over the years?
Tusshar: “The movie-watching experience has changed a lot. Multiplexes have made things more polished, but I miss the kind of films that connected with everyone — from kids to grandparents. These days, movies are made for specific groups. I’d like to see more films that bring everyone together.”
Sonia: “OTT platforms have made a huge difference. More actors are getting chances, and different types of stories are being told. But I think filmmakers are still playing it safe. We need to stop following a set formula and take more creative risks.”
Siddhi: “I’ve seen a big shift in the roles being written for women. Earlier, we were often just background characters. Now, we’re leading the story. Even in Kapkapiii, we’re in tough situations, but we’re not waiting around to be saved. That’s progress.”
Q 3 – Tusshar, what advice would you give your son Laksshya if he wants to act?
Tusshar: “I’ll support him in whatever he chooses, but I’ll only encourage acting if he’s truly passionate about it. This career has a lot of ups and downs. If you don’t love it, the tough days will feel even harder. You have to enjoy the whole journey, not just the success.”
“Right now, he’s not showing any interest in films, but who knows what the future holds?”
Q 4 – Before we wrap up, one line from Kapkapiii for the audience?
Siddhi, with a grin: “She eats everything — gluten, non-gluten, even carbs.”
And that’s Kapkapiii for you — spooky, silly, and full of unexpected fun. The cast is excited, the vibe is playful, and the ghosts? Well, you’ll have to find out yourself when the film hits theatres on 23 May 2025.
