The character is almost always positive and possibly the most attractive. However, story writers gave their protagonists the freedom to fall for enchanting yet shady villains.

Our protagonist James Bond (Sean Connery), crosses paths with Pussy during his quest for Auric Goldfinger. Pussy also happens to be the personal pilot of Goldfinger. However, that changes when Bond successfully convinces her to give up and join his quest instead.

In contrast to Bond, who was genuinely the hero, Pussy was merely a worker of an antagonist and not someone bearing wicked motivations. Together they fail the evil plan of Goldfinger that involved stealing all the gold from Fort Knox.

Bond might be the real lady-killer with his charming ways, but sometimes he has to lose his happily-ever-after too. This is precisely the romantic ending in the Bond movie “The World is not Enough”. Here, Bond (Pierce Brosnan) is assigned the mission of saving Elektra’s life after her father’s death. But Elektra is also the one to be blamed for the oil tycoon’s death since she has taken sides with the antagonist, Renard.  

Elektra wickedly schemes to destruct Istanbul with a Nuclear Bomb, which would result in her inherited pipeline becoming the only source of oil in the entire world. To prevent Bond from uncovering this truth, she pretends a fake relationship with him. However, Bond kills Elektra by shooting her, and the love story converts into a tragedy.

The infamous characters Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle were ordinary individuals at the time of their meet. Because of which they were in the dark about the truth of each other’s secondary identity. The dark doesn’t last long, though, for eventually, Selina (Catwoman) ends up uncovering the truth about Bruce (Batman). She decides to disable Bruce, for she fears he could disrupt her revenge from Max Shreck, her murderer.

Similar to the Bond movie “The world is not enough”, Batman attempts to convince Catwoman about changing her mind using their relationship as a method to soften her. However, here the protagonist fails, and Selina goes ahead to electrocute Max anyways. The climax ends with the characters choosing their distinguished paths to walk upon. Despite the absence of happily-ever-after, the ending is justified according to the characters and the plot. The movie introduces the belief that love might be the strongest emotion, but people never really change at the core.

The movie ultimately finishes with their one last kiss and Mina killing Dracula with a cruel heart stab. The tumultuous love adventure results in the death of Dracula by his love, Mina, instead of the other way around where he could have killed her.

But Anna’s heart gets frozen by Elsa’s Magical powers in an argument between them. Anna expects Hans to heal with the kiss of true love but outright denies the request. His selfish act exposes his greed and evil nature. Throughout the movie, we consider Hans to be one of the good guys. However, Elsa and Kristoff point out the lack of sense in marrying someone Anna met just now. But in the end, Anna restores her life and learns about the truth of Hans’s fake love.

At the time of the curse, a kiss by Maleficent becomes the one to lift the curse from Aurora. It depicts the present genuine love. Although Maleficent avoids exploring a traditional romance, it does shift the spotlight on a bond shared by the villain and her surrogate daughter. The audience receives an insight into her past and her motivations for her actions.

However, with progression, the two are exposed to the truth that they are Force-bound. This revelation induces a comparatively harmonious relationship between them. Ben goes even further to sacrificing his own life to save Rey.  

Fortunately, the audience gets to witness the heart-melting moment of their only kiss. That would explain why this scene is listed to be one of the best from the entire franchise.
