Designed to meet the needs of the film, television, and OTT industries, the media city is planned to be built on a hub and spoke model and will cover more than 1,000 acres in and around Thane City. Upon completion of all phases of Dharmaveer Media City, the project will generate more than 10,000 crores of rupees in revenue and create more than one million jobs. It will also provide future-proof production and post-production technologies to attract foreign filmmakers to India, including international-standard filming facilities, tourism, and a skill development institute.

The Director of Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, Mautik Tolia, expressed his excitement by saying, “It is with great excitement that we announce the development of Dharmaveer Media City.” The entertainment industry in India is a sleeping giant when it comes to creative talent. “India will provide global filmmakers and platforms with the tools necessary to deliver cost-effective and top-quality creative content with an investment of 1,000 crore spread across several phases. In terms of infrastructure, this media city will surpass the best facilities in the world.”

As Suman Entertainment director Kedar Joshi explains, “By providing a world-class location for the film industry, it will stimulate economic growth in Thane. “Dharamveer Media City’s primary purpose is to promote and publicize Maharashtra’s cultural, historical heritage, and mythological, as well as its rich traditions through films. For the Indian film industry, this brand-new media city is a significant development.”

It is expected that the Indian Media & Entertainment (M&E) sector will reach above INR2 trillion by 2024. Over 80% of revenues will come from television, digital media, films, visual effects, and animation. OTT platforms, smartphone usage, and internet penetration contribute to the increase in content consumption in India. Ironically, the Indian M&E industry lacks the physical & human infrastructure to leverage new-age technologies like Meta-verse, AR, and VR despite being a trillion-dollar industry.

In order to attract filmmakers & production houses, shooting locations alone are not enough. To make the region location more viable for filmmaking and provide a significant advantage over other locations there is a need for supporting infrastructure. As a result of a lack of skilled manpower, production costs, and time increases, discourage filmmakers from shooting. Dharmaveer Media City aims to address all these issues.

To meet the international standards of filmmaking, providing a wide range of amusements, the project will encourage all phases of film production. The Dharmaveer Media City will boost the real estate sector, generate local revenue, bolster local businesses, and provide employment for residents.
As an Indian production house, Bodhitree Multimedia Ltd produces critically acclaimed and commercially successful films in a variety of genres. One of the most exciting and dynamic film production companies in the industry, the company serves as a platform for launching new talent. Over 30 TV and OTT shows in multiple genres and languages have been produced by them.
