Pro Panja League held a hugely successful tournament in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, for North Indian arm wrestling athletes in their endeavour to promote arm wrestling or panja at the grassroots level. After many successful games around the country, this celebration has doubled with their enthusiastic sessions at Hoshiarpur.
Athletes were brought in from all over North India, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand; some even reached in from the South from Telangana. The Champion of Champion titles in both men and women were won by Haryana athletes who are also Pro Panja League stars, with the men’s trophy going to Karaj Singh Virk from Kaithal, Haryana and the female award to Yogesh Chaudhary of Sonepat, Haryana. Overall most champs came from Haryana, and many others from Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Preeti was amazed by the level of talent on display. ‘I congratulate both Karaj and Yogesh. Karaj has been a superstar of Pro Panja League and Yogesh seems unbeatable right now. I am especially proud to see the strides we have made in our Female athletes and the level of talent amongst the females is a joy to watch!’
