The main attraction of Lohri celebrations is the lighting of bonfires, which are seen as a symbol of fertility and prosperity. People gather around the fire to exchange gifts, sing folk songs, and enjoy traditional delicacies such as revdi, gajak, popcorn, and peanuts. People exchange heartfelt messages and wish to celebrate the festival and Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani have done so as well.

When asked about how he remembers celebrating Makar Sankranti, Parvin said, “Makar Sankranti always reminds me of my childhood, flying kites with my friends on the terrace.” My friends and neighbors and I would have a little get-together at home followed by a kite-flying competition.
