As someone who has fanaticized romance like a teenager, I have had a fair share of encounters with love in my life but not the ones that you usually go and see in Bollywood movies.
The 90s of the Bollywood were overwhelmed with the typical, one can say, cringe romantics where the leads only had happy endings. It was not until the likes of “Dil Toh Baccha hai ji’ that Bollywood started focusing on the real love.
Speaking of the rawness in love, this week’s release is Do Aur Do Pyar – a remake to “The lovers.”
First of all, this play of word with the old saying do aur do chaar is quite intriguing and sits perfectly with the storyline.
“Marriage is an institution but then who wants to live in an institution”
Do aur do pyaar is the answer to this who. The movie revolves around a couple who gets married out of love, loses love after getting married, only to find love with another after cheating on each other.
This might sound crowded but the leads who play this couple – Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi, make it look so easy and simple that you will instantly find yourself connected.
With no drops in the storyline, the acting by the leads is just like yet another day at the office. And now we know what it means when Vidya Balan recently said that “Industry kisi ke baap ki nahin hai, I am winning cz of my work otherwise har star kid successful hota.”
Her work in Do aur do pyar is yet another master stroke. I personally love Pratik Gandhi but boy, oh boy, even he was sidelined by the acting skills of Vidya Balan.
The second lead – Ileana D’Cruz & Sendhil Ramamurthy – did their part exactly the way story asked them to. It was nice seeing Ileana on screen after so much time while we loved the way Sendhil murders Hindi with his English accent.
While exploring the courage, love and responsibilities, Do aur do pyar will have you grind over this question – Is love enough?
Well, if you ask me, I think – a marriage needs and takes everything to shine bright – your love, your courage, your money, your thinking & your health. You lose any marks in any aspect and you can say good-bye to your marriage.
So, to say in a few words – Do aur do pyar is a 3-star cuddle that urges every lover in this world to explore the true meaning of this institution that we call as marriage.
And oh, don’t forget to bring a blanket while you watch this movie, cuddling your partner and sitting back relaxed on a recliner.
#DoAurDoPyaarReview: A remake to “The Lovers,” #DoAurDoPyaar brings back love in its raw form. #VidyaBalan aces like its Monday while #PratikGandhi balances the acting equation. Dedicated to all the lovers, this flick is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️cuddle! oh, And bring a blanket you two!🩷 pic.twitter.com/6Uij6KB7Nf
