Actress Regina Cassandra visits Aditya Mehta Foundation for World Disability Day

Apart from being a revered actress, Regina Cassandra is also a philanthropist. She is one of the trustees of the Aditya Mehta Foundation, a non-profit organization that aids people with disabilities to pursue sports while providing self-sustenance. She visited the foundation in place of World Disability Day, celebrated on 3rd Dec worldwide.

The actress has been with the NPO since 2014 and has been on various Infinity rides. The foundation focuses on scouting out talent among the disabled population of India and providing them with counseling to help them get better at their sport/ find a sport that is suitable for them. They also focus on finding and nurturing talent available in the nation’s Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, and ITBP), where there are quite a few permanent injuries that arise while a soldier is on duty. The foundation’s hard work made it possible for the para-athletes have secured one place in the women’s category and one in Men’s at Paralympics 2024

Talking about the same, Regina said, “it’s so nice to see AMF come such a long way. No one knows who our country’s para-athletes are but they are still putting us on the map. I’m so proud of the hard work that NGO and athletes have put in. Paralympics 2024, here we come!”

On the work front, Regina has had quite a successful 2022 and is now fully busy in 2023 with movies like Karungaapiyum, Soorpangai, Nene Na, Border, Flashback, and Rocket Boys Season 2.
