We all have been gone through the tough times and challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of the pandemic has led to a drastic loss of human life and affected the general well-being of people worldwide. This pandemic results in unpredictable challenges everyone faces due to our economic and social disruption.

That was when a Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, popularly known for his anti-hero character on the silver screen, emerged as ‘the Saviour’ or ‘a messiah’ for several migrant laborers who were stuck in different parts of the country during the COVID-19 lockdown. That was the first time when Indians saw him as the real hero of India.

During this nationwide lockdown, the actor became a helping hand for those in hassle and arranged buses, trains, and air travel for migrants laborers and daily wages workers after coordinating with the state government to reunite them with their families. This one-act got viral on the internet, was widely appreciated, and won hearts online. He’s not only rescued migrants who were stuck in lockdown but also acted as a ‘Good Samaritan’ on various events such as: –

Pravasi Rojgar Yojana

An app launched by Sonu Sood named ‘Pravasi Rojgar’ to help migrants workers to find employment opportunities across India. Apart from searching for job opportunities, this app also provides job training programs like English spoken courses. 

Prof.Saroj Sood scholarships

The next step of Sonu Sood, the real hero of India, was an announcement of launching full scholarships for students in the name of his mother ‘Prof. Saroj Sood scholarships provide support to low-income families students to pursue their higher studies. Further, he added that his mother believed that everyone deserves an equal chance at a healthy, happy future. “Hindustan Badhega Tabhi, Jab Padhenge Sabhi! Shakti Annadanam

The actor has started his next initiative to feed the hungry. During the lockdown, which led to massive job losses and food insecurity, Sonu launched the Shakti Annadanam program in his late father’s name, intending to feed at least 45,000 people every day in Mumbai.

Free Coaching For Aspirants

On the Occasion of his mother’s death anniversary, actor Sonu Sood along with the youth organization DIYA or Divine India Youth Association has started a program to provide free coaching for IAS aspirants and law aspirants to reach their goals through Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships.

E Rickshaw Gift Scheme

This initiative provides free E-Rickshaw to the people who lost their jobs during the pandemic. This scheme aims to empower poor people, make them self-reliant, and make some money to survive.

Providing free mobile phones to students

Sonu Sood, the real hero of India, has started his new mission by providing free mobile phones to the students to ensure students continue their studies without any hurdle who cannot attend online classes due to unavailability of mobile phones and said, “NO more LOCKDOWN on EDUCATION 🎓.”

Bringing back to their home

Sonu Sood’s efforts weren’t limited to the Indian Subcontinent, but he came to rescue Indian students stuck in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the Philippines, and Russia in Kyrgyzstan. He arranged a charter flight for their return home.

Facilitated oxygen and hospitals beds

As we all know, India dealt with two consecutive destructive coronavirus waves; at that time, actor Sonu Sood came forward to help migrants on their home return and facilitate hospital beds, medicines, and oxygen to those in need.

The Oxygen Drive

As India faced a devastating second wave of Coronavirus, actor Sonu Sood launched his own ‘Oxygen Drive’ to provide oxygen cylinders at doorsteps for people who were suffering from Covid-19 and pickup patients to the hospital when the ambulances were not available.

Sonu Sood, the real hero of India, a Bollywood actor, and humanitarian, has teamed up with Aster Volunteers, a worldwide CSR initiative, to create awareness about the rise in liver disease cases in India and encourage individuals to take proactive measures to control their liver health. The main objective of this collaboration is to help children in need of a liver transplant.

Apart from these above initiatives, Sonu helped people on many more occasions, like providing a tractor to a poor family from Andhra who plowed their field manually, helping a skillful stunt woman Aaji from Pune in opening her own training school.

Sonu Sood again turned into a good samaritan by rescuing nearly 180 girls of Odia those stuck in Kerela due to the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown by arranging the flight for them. The actor continues his good deeds by rescuing Assamese migrants stuck when the Cyclone “Nisarga” hit Mumbai by arranging an Air Asia flight to send them to their homes. Sood emerged as the real hero of India in the public eye.

Sonu stepped up and extended his support to almost everyone who asked him for help. He collaborated with Karnataka and Maharashtra state governments to help approximately Twenty thousand migrant workers reach to their states by arranging buses for them and arranging air tickets in some cases.

During the nationwide lockdown, many health workers, including doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, had to deal with the risk of infecting Covid-19. The actor Sonu Sood then opened his Juhu Hotel, Mumbai, for health workers who are working day and night to save people.

This real-life hero again emerged for his act captured in a viral video, continuing the goodwill. It shows Sonu helped a 19-year-old boy who met with a severe road accident in Moga by unlocking the car doors.

 Sonu Sood, the real hero of India, has performed numerous acts of kindness as an actor, philanthropist, social worker, writer, savior, and Good Samaritan or public messiah and conducted social works. Sood has done what others in power have failed to do: he has aided those in need.
