At the recently ended 5th Annual UK-India Awards, renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur received the prestigious India Global Forum’s Special Award for Lifetime Contribution to UK-India Relations.
Shekhar Kapur received the award, the highest honor given at the UK-India Awards, in appreciation of his extraordinary dedication and unmatched efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. The worldwide partnership has been remarkably changed by Kapur’s visionary storytelling, profound understanding of both cultures and extraordinary body of work.
The occasion highlighted the essential role played by leaders like Shekhar Kapur in promoting cooperation and strengthening bonds between the UK and India. In order to honor and recognize the successful collaboration between the United Kingdom and India, an event was conducted on June 29 that drew more than 400 senior officials from various sectors. Notable people included UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Shekhar Kapur has established a name for himself as one of the most talented auteurs. Oscars were awarded to his films Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and his most recent film, “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” had just been nominated for nine British National Film Awards. News that the director was producing a sequel to his hugely successful directorial debut, “Masoom,” also made headlines.
