Preeti Jhangiani, an actor and producer, had a significant day on Thursday when she was named President of the Maharashtra Arm Wrestling Association. Preeti and Parvin have been working extremely hard to promote arm-wrestling as a sport both inside and outside of India, which is why this appointment was made. Preeti and Parvin have actually worked to advance the arm-wrestling community in Maharashtra over the past few years.
The Pro-Panja League, which Preeti and Parvin Dabas founded in 2020, has grown to be Asia’s largest arm-wrestling promotion. The Pro Panja League has held a few competitions across the nation; one of them took place in July of last year in Gwalior in front of the Gwalior fort. In fact, it has been getting an incredible amount of attention on social media. Almost 155 million views on its social media platforms to far! It will shortly announce that a major broadcast station will be airing its inaugural season this year.
Preeti Jhangiani says, “Of course, I am over the moon about my new job. Yet, I feel even more privileged to have been chosen to lead The Maharashtra Arm Wrestling Association. Arm wrestling has always been one of my favorite sports because it originated in our early years. We have all participated in it, even as little children. We feel our efforts have paid off because of this distinction, and I hope I can fulfill this role to the best of my ability.
She continues, “As I have been doing as co-founder of the Pro Panja League as well, together with Dr. Shrikant Walankar, Shri Sachin Matne, Shri Pramod Walmadre, and our formidable team, we want to promote Arm Wrestling in a significant way in Maharashtra.”
Preeti Jhangiani has vowed to promote arm-wrestling among women and athletes with disabilities with her new job. According to her, arm wrestling has a very low financial entrance barrier yet offers significant physical and emotional benefits. I want to promote the participation of more women and athletes with disabilities in this sport. Maharashtra, where I was born and raised, is where I call home. I shall constantly strive for the advancement and empowerment of my state of Maharashtra and its athletes. Jai Hind!”
