In the Indian calendar, January 24 is a very important day. National Girl Child Day is a day of protest against female abandonment of female babies, foeticide, and other atrocities against women. Preeti Jhangiani, a mother of two sons, shares her thoughts on how to raise sensitive and let children in today’s world understand the importance of educating children about gender equality.

In India, National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year in order to raise awareness of the importance of treating girls equally. The Ministry of Women and Child Development initiated this day to promote awareness of the rights of girl children and the issues they face, such as health, education, and nutrition.
