Producer-director Aanand L Rai is renowned for telling compelling stories that leave an impression on viewers. Nil Battey Sannata will always be remembered as an unforgettable movie, according to Aanand L Rai. I knew I wanted to direct the film as soon as I finished reading the script. It had a wonderful harmony of powerful characters, a relevant subject, and appropriate emotions. It was a movie that has lasting appeal for many audiences, and I’m happy to have supported such a compelling narrative.
The movie was released globally as The New Classmate in 2015 and won numerous accolades at the 62nd Filmfare Awards. Additionally, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari made her directing debut with the movie. The protagonist of the narrative is a single mother who works as a maid and has ambitious goals for her daughter. The sensitive drama, in which Swara Bhasker starred, addressed the bond between a mother and daughter.
