Award-winning filmmaker-actor Rahul Mittra, famous actress Raima Sen, renowned filmmaker Rahul Rawail, Rumy Jafry, Sree Narayan Singh, Umesh Shukla, Kumar Mangat, Nitin Tej Ahuja, Chandrakant Singh, Kiran Koneru, well-known trade analyst Komal Nahta, Assamese Actor-Producer Sulakhyana Baruah, leading Manipuri actress Soma Laishram, well known Assamese actress Himakshi Kalita, amongst others, opened the Namaste India Festival at the iconic Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City.
Rahul Mittra led a film delegation to this first-ever festival hosted by the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma, Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi & curator Captain Rahul Bali, commemorating the 75 years of India’s independence while marking the 50 years of India-Vietnam relations. The festival saw both Indians & Vietnamese turn out in large numbers at the inauguration ceremony, followed by spectacular Indian classical & Vietnamese folk dance performances.
