This Saturday, January 26, is India’s 74th Republic Day. This day is celebrated with great fervor and zeal by the Indian Republic every year. In New Delhi, the President’s Bodyguard, a 200-strong cavalry unit dressed in golden sashes, red coats, and resplendent turbans, escorts the president to the stage before the national anthem begins every January 26. Featuring world leaders and broadcast across the nation of 1.25 billion, the Republic Day parade in New Delhi is the premier state event of the year.

Actress Rashami Desai talks about how she remembers celebrating Republic Day in school and how she does up to now. “I can never forget our school’s Republic Day celebration. People from different faiths would join in together to celebrate. Our principal and teachers would discuss the significance of the day during the morning assembly. After the flag was hoisted, cultural activities would follow, and sweets would be distributed.”

“Unfortunately, today most people view it as just another day to catch up on sleep. Nevertheless, I attend a flag hoisting ceremony every year, whether it’s in the neighborhood or at an event somewhere else. In addition to wearing bright clothes, preferably in the tricolour, I also encourage others to celebrate the spirit of the day in a patriotic way.”

Hi, this is your Filmee Boy! About me? Well, I am a "Bakchod" who performs way better than "Thugs of Hindustan" by firing "Andhadhun" words. I am the "Padman" who has always stood at "102 Not Out". Last time when you were being a "Fanney Khan" at one of your "Veere Di Wedding", I was ruling the "Baazaar" of Bollywood by singing "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga".
