Zee Studios’ dance Horror -comedy drama ‘Rocket Gang’ becomes the first film to take a never-like-before approach. Interestingly, the makers showcased the trailer of their film in schools across 15+ cities across India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Amritsar, amongst other cities to over 10,000 kids. By revealing the trailer primarily to the children, Zee Studios embraces a unique marketing strategy whereby it directly targets its audience. This unique strategy has gained an exciting response, and the idea continues to gain massive appreciation.
The dance drama involves a blend of emotional relations such as friendship, love and comradeship. Hence, the filmmakers also conducted seminars to help children identify ‘good’ and ‘bad’ touch. Where it is crucial to educate children with such wisdom, the filmmakers took a step in the right direction with such a thoughtful marketing strategy.
Neeraj Joshi, Marketing Head, Zee Studios, expressed his view on such a novel stance. He said, “Rocket Gang is a unique film. Our communication strategies always cater to our core audiences first, who, in this case, isn’t bound by classical film promotional practices. As a demonstration of this understanding, we showcased the film’s trailer in schools across the country to thousands of children before its official launch.
To make the engagement with children even more meaningful & educational, we also conducted free workshops with qualified educators who sensitised children about ‘good touch & bad touch’; as a part of the same activity. We wanted kids to love our content and the parents to respect its intentions; that’s what we achieved.’
