Sadhana says that Dooriyan with Hariharan is special to her

Having impacted countless lives through his artistry over the course of four decades, renowned vocalist Hariharan has unveiled a new ghazal, named ‘Dooriyan’, in collaboration with vocalist Sadhana Jejurikar. Kailash Gandharv crafted the music and Madan Pal wrote the lyrics. Akshay Hariharan produced the music while Pramodkumar Bari choreographed it, and the video was directed by Kailash Pawar.

Sadha Jejurikar had the idea of creating a unique composition featuring Hariharan, which would represent the feelings of someone who has experienced heartbreak in love. This cross-cultural collaboration, ‘Dooriyan’, was recorded with live instruments.

Sadhana expressed her heartfelt gratitude when she perfectly sang the ghazal “Dooriyan”, which features Hariharan Saab. She is hopeful that this dream of hers will come true. For the past 30 years, Sadhana has been inspired by Hariharan saab’s music and has considered him her Guru. She has a classical training in singing and when she presented the song to him, he not only appreciated the lyrics but also liked her singing. This has been a great honour and privilege for her.

At the recording session, she went on to say that the entire process was amazing, as the artist was incredibly cooperative and supportive. Although she was initially nervous, the artist’s presence motivated her to sing her best. In the end, she was hopeful that people would enjoy the final product.

Hariharan expressed his admiration for Sadhana, saying that it was an amazing experience recording with her. He elaborated that the melody of the song was both romantic and captivating. Upon hearing the initial version of ‘Dooriyan’, he felt immensely blessed and immediately consented to take part in it. According to him, Sadhana’s singing was ideal for the track as her classical training enables her to effectively adapt to any genre.

Sadhana Jejurikar has accomplished multiple successes in her career as a Ghazal singer, with her recent being the well-received album DUAA (featuring Maestro Ghulam Ali Khan). In addition, she is a co-author of the biographical book ‘Ghazal Wizard – Ghulam Ali’, published by Times Publication. Since 1992, Sadhana has been rendering her Ghazal talent on AIR, Indore. In 1996, she took part in the musical TV show Sa Re Ga Ma. She has performed on stage in India and overseas with various other artists.

Sadhana has been honored twice with the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Lata Mangeshkar District Award and has been singing on All India Radio since 1994. Additionally, in 2014, she was presented with the Vikram Award in her hometown. She has performed in numerous places across India and overseas with various singers. She has also lent her voice to various movies & music albums in various languages.
