Thi Independence Day, Bollywood gifted its fans with yet another seat-gripping movie – Batla House. Starring John Abraham & Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, this latest Bollywood movie had some of the few good things to say. Although the same day, Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha among others, the wave of movie-goers was less, it came with the potential.
Back in 2008, an encounter was carried out in Batla House in which a few people were killed. ACP Sanjay aka John plays the role of the lead in the movie. The film is all about who wins – the police officers who were accused or the activists/society who thinks they did a fake encounter.
Now it may look like that why should I watch this movie, I have seen everything in the news channels, the verdict is already out, so what’s the use. But that’s not the case with this one. If you go ahead and read this Batla House movie review, you will realize that apart from the story, there are various other things one must-see too.
Likewise, not everything should be judged from its cover, it won’t be correct to judge this movie until you have looked over the following facts –
John Abraham, like his past movies, has come out as a brilliant super-cop but this time it is more real, believable and gripping action. If you are going to watch this movie for stunts, we suggest you stop there because this ain’t any FORCE-like movie where John is seen jumping buildings and fighting international criminals. Rather the movie shouts how a police officer struggles, who is he from the inside, how he reacts and all the background story.
Another important thing is that each character in the movie has been placed with an appropriate proportion. For not even a single second, you will feel that okay, this particular character is useless.
Mrunal Thakur, John’s wife in the movie plays the role of a journalist who is also supportive and brave at the same time. She is ready to face his husband and show kindness wherever or whenever needed.
The movie has some instances where it clarifies that “The film producer does not endorse the views from any side.” This was something commendable because, during the court’s session, where this was displayed, the viewers might discriminate for any one view. Hence, in the eyes of psychology, it defines how good this thing is.
Moving ahead in the Batla House movie review, there is one other thing that suggests why you should watch this movie – the unprecedented acting skills exhibited by John. Unlike all his cop-based movies where he plays the role of an action man, Batla House is a balanced delivery of action, emotions and the unusual struggle. Also, don’t miss the cherish the monologue by him during the climax in the courthouse. He is next-level in the scene.
Did we enjoy watching Batla House?
Well, truth be told. The lady sitting beside us speaks this – “Awesome, marvelous & outstanding.” And we don’t find any reason to deny her words. So, yeah, we did enjoy the movie and we hope that you enjoy it too.
