Recently, the 68th Filmfare Awards ceremony took place. The greatest and most gifted superstars were all present that night under one roof. ‘Badhaai Do’ with Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar won several awards on the illustrious evening. In the movie, Apeksha Porwal played the role of Komal, Sumi’s (Bhumi Pednekar) first love, and she sends her congratulations to the entire cast and crew in a special greeting.
Congratulations to Team Badhaai Do on their victory at Filmfare, the actress adds, adding that she is “so grateful to have been a small part of this monumental film, a film that so beautifully addresses the issues of the LGBTQI community without being patronizing.”
In addition, she says, “Given the current case being heard in the SC on the same-sex marriage bill, I hope this film that resonated with audiences and critics alike, does it’s part in accepting society in India toward the LGBTQI community.”
The fact that Apeksha Porwal is the first Indian to serve as the lead of the English-Arabic web series Slave Market, she is currently garnering attention abroad. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for the viewers as she works on Slave Market’s upcoming season as well as other several projects.
