Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, the revolutionary film directed by Abhishek Kapoor, was released on December 10th, 2021. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor of T-Series and Guy in the Sky Pictures with the noble intention of sending out a message of inclusivity.
When asked about portraying these issues, director Abhishek Kapoor remarked that he was grateful for the chance to tell this story. “The transgender community is a small minority.” He noted. “It was important for them to feel their voice mattered and was being heard. ”

Abhishek Kapoor, who also co-wrote the story, won the Screenwriters Association and Filmfare awards for best novel and the Extraordinaire: Pathbreaking Filmmaker award at the Brand Vision Awards. The movie received the “Disruptor in Cinema” award at the Indian Film Festival (Melbourne) and “Best Film With Social Impact” at the Indian Television Awards. While Vaani won Game Changer of the Year, Ayushmann Khuranna was awarded the Disruptor of the Year category at the Lions Gold Awards.
