An extended trailer of the December release, Warner Bros Aquaman has been released and we are having a little bit of Déjà vu. Sorry to all the DC fans but yes that is true. Why, if you ask? We shall reveal the same in the article here.
Furthermore, any more misgivings will no more survive now. Aquaman, the Jason Momoa starrer latest Hollywood movie looks visually fantastic with huge action scenes. DC fans or not-fans who were complaining about the movie’s CGI will finally get impressed. This clearly shows that the James Wan and the team have been all ears to the criticism.
The beginning of the trailer is similar, having Momoa’s voiceover, the same lighthouse but with more substantial feel. The titular role of Aquaman/Arthur Curry is portrayed by Momoa who is seen entering the submarine as seen the last time, beating up the smugglers.
Next thing we see is Mera (Amber Heard) and Arthur walking together in Sahara desert in an Indiana Jones-style quest. After which they enter a huge hall with idols and the place which once used to be Atlantis that got submerged in the ocean. They aim to find the Trident of Poseidon.
In the next few frames, the war between Aquaman and his half-brother – King Orm (played by Patrick Wilson) is also shown with great white sharks and seahorses. The visuals here look improved but Black Manta remains the real highlight. The character of Black Manta is played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who is the villain and is shown working closely with Orm. Upon seeing them, Arthur’s reaction is like us, “Who the hell are you?”
In the extended sequence, it is shown that Mera and Arthur who are being chased by the super-villain – Black Manta. Must say, the background music is an excellent work of art.
Arthur protests to Mera by saying, “I am no leader,” and she replies to him by saying that Atlantis needs not a king, but a hero.
